Chemical Cleaning / Disinfection

Chemical cleaning involves the use of specialised chemicals to remove contaminates such as scale, algae, biofilm and others from the internal surfaces of systems.

A typical chemical cleaning programme is likely to involve some or all of the following procedures:-

• Removal of surface oxides
• Effuent deposal/ final flushing
• Neutralisation
• Corrosion inhibitor and biocides dosing

Chemical cleaning can improve efficiently and performance as well as extended it’s lifespan.

Disinfection, on the other hand, involves the use of chemicals to kill or inactivate microorganisms present in the cooling tower. This is important to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and other organisms that can cause illness or damage to the cooling tower itself. Disinfection can be done using a variety of chemicals, including chlorine, bromine, and ozone.
